ABOUT VOICES ONLY

Voices Only was founded in the fall of 2004.  Brock Harris noticed there was a plethora of high quality a cappella being produced on a yearly basis, and single-disc compilations were no longer big enough to accommodate that quality.  He approached his friend and a cappella colleague Corey Slutsky about the idea for a double-disc a cappella compilation album, and Corey jumped on board with enormous enthusiasm.

Voices Only includes not just the "best" a cappella tracks each year, but the best mix of songs, each chosen for a different and specific reason (including soloists, production, arrangements, innovation, etc.).

What is a cappella?

A cappella music is vocal music or singing without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. A cappella is Italian for like in the chapel (music); the term is due to restrictions on the use of instruments in medieval churches.
